KYA is offering 4U-14U (ages 4 years - 14 years) for the 2025-26 Wrestling Season.

Practice is STARTING the week of October 22nd and running through February 27th (State Championship). Since this is a long season compared to most sports we offer, we understand that some families may want only to attend a few meets, and some will want to attend every meet they can (traveling locations offered weekly). Practices will be held at the Kiowa High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15pm-7:45pm.

There will be breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years' Holidays. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Kiowa Youth Athletics is excited for Youth Wrestling to start back up in October 2024! Most Tournaments will typically have ages 4U, 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U. Practices will be Tuesday adn Thursday 6:30-8pm in the Middle School, this is a long season and we understand if you are not able to make it to every practice that being said we do encourage attendance at as many practices as possible. Tournament schedules TBD. Tournaments are Divided by Age and Weight.

The $30 registration fee is for t-shirt, facility and wrestling mat use. If your child participates in tournaments, they will need a singlet. If needed KYA has gear available for ADDITIONAL fees for tournaments for your child.

KIOWA YOUTH ATHLETICS CODE OF CONDUCT:
The Kiowa Youth Athletics (KYA) is responsible to see that their coaches, players and spectators abide by this
Code of Conduct. KYA has expressed and implied powers to disciple coaches, players, parents/guardians, sponsors, or spectators for violation of the Code of Conduct. All Coaches, players and parents/guardians are required to sign the Code of Conduct. These signed forms will be kept by KYA. Violations of the Code of Conduct can result in termination of participation for whatever period of time deemed reasonable and appropriate by KYA. This may include (but not limited to) suspension from practices/games, ejection from practices/games, or forfeiture of a game(s).

OFFENSIVE ACTIONS: No sponsor, coach, player, parent/guardian or spectator is to
1) Refuse to abide by an official’s decision;
2) Be guilty of objectionable demonstration by throwing equipment or any other forceful object;
3) Be guilty of verbal abuse upon official for any reason;
4) Be guilty of an abusive verbal attack upon any player, opposing coach, official, Parent(s)/guardian, or spectator;
5) At any time, lay hands upon, push, shove, or strike and official;
6) Be guilty of a physical attack upon player, opposing coach, parent/guardian, or spectator.

PENALTIES:
Violations of 1-4 above: automatic minimum one (1) game suspension
Violation of 5-6 above: permanent suspension of offender for the remainder of the season(Regular and Post).
Any objection must be submitted in writing to the KYA Board, PO BOX 554 Kiowa, CO 80117 within 72 hours for
consideration. We must follow The Babe Ruth League code of conduct when playing in their leagues.

Sports can and should be a setting in which personal characteristics including integrity; respect, responsibility and fairness are built. The principles of sportsmanship and fair play ought to be held high above all other values to be gained through sports participation. Participation, attendance, sportsmanship and behavior in games/practice are essential for a player to learn and develop skills for a sport. Playing time can be determined by coaches based on participation, attendance, sportsmanship, ability and behavior. Please let your coaches know ahead of practice/games if you are going to be late or absent. If you have any concerns please talk with a coach, if you feel that the situation has not been resolved please talk with the baseball coordinator, if you still feel the situation has not been handled properly then approach the KYA board. I will respect the fundamental rights, dignity and worth of athletes and their family members, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators. I have read, understand, received copy of, and accept the terms of the KYA Code of Conduct.


This WAIVER AND RELEASE shall be governed by the State of Colorado law and the courts located in Elbert County. Colorado shall have the exclusive jurisdiction for any action arising there from. Before registering and participating in this event, every participant and his/her parent or guardian should read this form. By signing the form, the participant and his/her parent or guardian signifies that he/she has read the information contained in this form, fully understands this information and agrees to the terms contained in this form. INCLUDED IN THESE TERMS ARE(I) A WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURIES AND LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY SUFFERED BY THE SIGNEE AND/OR THE PARTICIPANT AND (ii) PERMISSION TO USE THE SIGNEE'S AND/OR THE PARTICIPANT'S LIKENESS OF THE PHOTO.

VOLUNTARY WAIVER AND RELEASE: There are risks connected with my or my child's participation in this event and its related activities. Injury to me or my child's person or damage to or loss of personal property is a possibility. I (KYA/Elbert County School District C-2 (Kiowa Schools), its directors, officers, employees, agents, organizers, sponsors, workers, coaches, referees and volunteers from any and all actions, suits, demands and claims of whatever nature in law or in equity, from any injuries suffered by me or my child while participating in this event or its related activities including transporting my child to and from these activities and further from the loss or damage to personal property by the theft, negligence or otherwise.

MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION: I HEREBY GRANT FULL PERMISSION to Kiowa Youth Athletics (KYA/Elbert County School District C-2 (Kiowa Schools), its directors, officers, employees, agents, organizers, sponsors, workers and volunteers to act for me according to their best judgment in any emergency requiring medical attention to me or my child. I agree to reimburse said persons any costs incurred in seeking/providing proper medical attention.

PERMISSION TO USE PHOTO: I HEREBY GRANT FULL PERMISSION to the Kiowa Youth Athletics (KYA/Elbert County School District C-2 (Kiowa Schools) or to record any or all of my child's participation in this event for photos, motion pictures, TV, radio, recordings, videotapes, and other media known and unknown, and to use them, no matter by whom taken, in any matter for publicity, promotions, advertising, trade or commercial purposes, without any reimbursements of any kind due to me or my child, or the need to pay me or my child any fee.
